Can't find anything? Can't work properly? This method fixes it in ONE afternoon!
đ¯ WHAT YOU NEED
- đĻ Box #1 (big enough for ALL your desk clutter)
- đĻ Box #2 (any size box)
- âąī¸ 30-60 minutes of your time
- đī¸ Trash bins nearby (paper, plastic, general waste - so you don't have to keep getting up!)
That's it. Really.
đ STEP 1: THE GREAT SWEEP (5 minutes)
The Rule:
EVERYTHING loose goes in Box #1. No exceptions.
â Keep on Desk:
- Computer/laptop
- Monitor
- Keyboard/mouse
- Desk lamp
đĻ Into Box #1:
- Papers, pens, cables
- Coffee mugs, snacks
- Random objects
- EVERYTHING else
Don't think. Just sweep it all in!
đ STEP 2: THE SORTING GAME (20-40 minutes)
How It Works:
- Pick ONE item from Box #1
- Follow the rules below
- Repeat until Box #1 is empty
đ THE 4 GOLDEN RULES:
⥠Rule 1: The 10-Second Rule
Can't decide where it goes in 10 seconds? â Straight to Box #2!
đī¸ Rule 2: Trash It Fast
Don't need it anymore? â Throw it away NOW!
đ¯ Rule 3: Close Enough Counts
Put it in the right AREA, not the perfect spot - Dirty spoon â Kitchen (anywhere in kitchen is fine!) - Nail clippers â Bathroom (don't worry about exact drawer)
đĢ Rule 4: NEVER Back to Desk
Nothing goes back on the desk. Ever.
đ STEP 3: BOX #2 ROUND (Optional - 10-20 minutes)
Feeling energetic? Great! - Box #1 is now empty - Repeat the sorting with Box #2 - Items you can't place â Back to Box #1
Too tired? STOP HERE. You've already won! Your desk is clean!
âšī¸ STEP 4: STOP AND CELEBRATE
đ Don't Keep Going!
Seriously. STOP. - You've sorted everything twice - More sorting = waste of time - Save leftover items for another day

â DO:
- Set up trash bins before you start (paper, plastic, general)
- Set a timer for each step
- Play upbeat music while sorting
- Take breaks if you need them
- Celebrate small wins ("Box #1 is empty!")
â DON'T:
- Think too hard about perfect placement
- Go back and re-sort everything
- Put anything back on the desk
- Beat yourself up about leftover items
